Talon's Client - National Mahjongg League's Mailing Featured on ABC News.

On Friday March 26, 2004 ABC's Eyewitness News featured a story about the growth of the game Mahjongg, the National Mahjongg League, and about their upcoming mailing to take place on March 31.

For 66 years, the National Mahjongg League has been the arbitrator for everything that relates to American Mahjongg. The League started with 32 members and currently has grown to approximately 200,000.

The National Mahjongg League has been a Talon client for over 10 years.Every spring we mail the new Mahjongg player cards and rules to members of the National Mahjongg League. Many of the players excitedly wait for the arrival of the new cards that will be used for the next twelve months.Talon mails to over 125,000 members.

Each year the League changes the hands and rules to add more excitement to the game.Talon mails the cards with about 50 different winning tile combinations.

The card changes mean the game subtly changes each year. This helps to keep the game interesting and fresh.

"There's been a new surge in the interest of the game for at least the last five or six years," said Ruth Unger, president of the Mahjongg league.

Unger thinks part of the attraction is that the game continues to offer friendship as well as entertainment. A player might lose a husband through death or divorce, raise children and send them off into the world, but the Mahjongg group stays together.

"There is no other game that creates the bonds among the four and five players. They are their extended family. They are the one constant thing in their lives," Unger says.

Talon's Free Count Software Helps List Managers and Marketing Firms Grow!

Since developing and marketing OASIS, Talon has more than doubled the number of list managers and lists at Talon. Can our powerful and free software help your company grow?

"With Oasis my staff of account managers can produce instant counts for more accurate list recommendations and quick turnaround times for count requests". Doug Carpenter - Director of List Management, Benchmark Business Data

Three years ago Talon developed software that would allow instant counts to be performed on clientís computers.Ourprogram allows users to analyze different elements within a list such as geographic areas, gender and any other list selection.Counts and reports can be viewed and printed. What makes our software so successful is itís extremely powerful, full featured, and you don't need to connect to the internet or a mainframe to use it.The software can process over 200,000 records per minute and is so easy to use there's no training.

In addition to the list management community, marketing companies, advertising agencies and end users have found the program to be extremely helpful in planning upcoming marketing projects and to be able to provide counts to their clients in seconds.

Talon can design the software to display your company name within the program for added recognition.†† OASIS gives you a competitive advantage by providing your clients, salespeople, and employees a valuable free product. We know first hand that this program will increase your client base - it has more than doubled ours.

If you are a list manager, marketing agency, or consultant please do not pass on the opportunity to provide your clients with our product. If you decide to pass up this opportunity just ask yourself this:What happens if your competition starts distributing OASIS?

Lost U.S. Postal Service Slips Cost Two Hollywood Movie Studios More Than $25 Million In Royalties.

Lost U.S. Postal Service slips have cost two Hollywood movie studios - Universal Studios, owned by Vivendi Universal Entertainment, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. more than $25 million in royalties.

Universal and MGM missed a deadline nearly three years ago to submit applications for royalties for the use of their films by cable television and satellite providers. Because the studios couldn't prove they had mailed their applications to the U.S. Copyright Office by July 31, 2001, they weren't entitled to the money, according to a federal judge in Washington.
