Welcome to the Talon Mailing & Marketing May Newsletter:
By Michael Borkan.
When there is a pile of mail in your recipient’s hand, sometimes, the best list, sent to the best prospect, with great written copy still won’t get open. Here's an idea to break through the clutter.
For years readers of our newsletter have known how important good copy and choosing the right mailing lists are for the success of a direct mail promotion. We have presented many articles on these subjects, written by some of the best, brightest and experienced direct marketers in our industry. For a comprehensive list of all articles that have appeared in this newsletter, see our archive section below.
Sometimes the best list, sent to the best prospect, with great written copy still won’t get open; especially when there is a pile of mail in the recipient’s hand.
Below you will find a package we recently mailed for the NFL Network that breaks through the clutter. This package had an outstanding design that was sure to capture the interest of the recipient and get opened. The objective of the mailing (sent to Media Buyers) was to send an Invitation and a High-End Access Pass for the NFL Network's Inaugural “Upfront Event.”
Beginning with the 2006 season, the NFL Network will broadcast eight prime time regular season NFL games. Since NFL games are some of the most highly watched television programs, the “Upfront Event” is an exiting and lavish gathering where Media Buyers meet with NFL executives to discuss and plan upfront media buying.
Why It's a Good Idea to Call Talon Before You Start Planning For Your Mailing.
Here's how to prevent all kinds of problems with your mailing.
You can prevent problems that can significantly increase postage costs or increase postal delivery times. All you need to do is call Talon before planning a mailing and before you have the materials printed.
You can send us samples, or if it’s more convenient, send us electronic artwork. Talon will examine the size and paper properties, the mailing piece colors and many other factors to make sure your project conforms to postal guidelines.
We will ensure the materials are within proper specifications for production machinery too. That means your piece will look great, run through the postal system properly, and you pay the lowest automation-discounted postage rates.
