Islanders Team With Talon to Reach New Customers.
Direct mail provided the perfect approach to target three distinct markets.
With hockey returning after a season-long absence, the New York Islanders needed a novel way to reach three distinct and important markets: Local families, business and non-profit organizations. The solution? Working closely with Talon, the Islanders produced personalized letters to go along with three distinct brochures - 70,000 pieces in all.
Because the vast majority of the mail was local to Long Island, Talon was able to save the Islanders additional postage by trucking the sorted mail to local US Post Office processing centers.
If your organization is looking for a way to target different groups, contact Talon today. We can help you with all your printing and mailing needs, including list selections and helping to determine the most economical way to perform mailings with different messages, collateral, and variable information.
'Tis The Season: Talon Mails Numerous Holiday Catalogs.
According to the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), Americans plan to spend $299 billion on holiday gifts this year. With the holiday shopping season soon underway, Americans will flock to catalogs, the Web, and stores to find items on their holiday gift lists. The mailing industry is already reporting a very busy holiday season.
Direct Mail is entering its busiest time of year – the Holiday Season. Helping to make this year so active are these circumstances:
Catalog mailings are not the only direct mail segment that sees extensive activity this time of year. With the Holiday Season on consumer’s minds, not to mention a last chance for an end-of-year tax deduction, non-profit fundraisers are very busy getting their mailings produced too.
Due to an expanded client base Talon has stretched our two production shifts to 20 hours a day to keep up with demand.

E-MAIL AUTHENTICATION FIRM GOODMAIL SYSTEMS Wednesday announced a deal with Yahoo! and America Online to certify certain e-mails from senders like banks or charities, to stop fraud or phishing schemes from targeting users.
From Online Media Daily
by Shankar Gupta
The service, called CertifiedEmail, marks with an icon e-mail from users who have signed up with Goodmail as authenticated in the user's inbox--allowing e-mail users to be certain that the e-mail actually came from the sender it claims.
At this time, Yahoo! and AOL will continue to deliver e-mails from senders that have not signed up with Goodmail.
Among the first organizations to use Goodmail on AOL and Yahoo!'s e-mail services will be the American Red Cross, which sends e-mails soliciting donations, but has also had its name used by online scammers in the wake of disasters such as the South Asian Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
To have e-mails authenticated by Goodmail, senders must register with the company, and then have their e-mailing practices evaluated; for example, Goodmail checks that users are able to opt-out of newsletters and product mailings.
We are giving away two tickets to see the New York Islanders. These seats are center ice four rows from the action! The game is:
